My device has taken on many changes throughout the design process, as it probably should have. my design is something that measures pollen count in the air and informs the user to avoid this area if they are allergic to that particular type of pollen. it firstly started off as something that went around your neck, like a collar, but would be hidden under the collar so that it would not look bad. however this design was not very successful. the design then went in the direction of something that could perhaps clip on something that you are carrying, such as a bag, a pram, a picnic basket etc. this went well, however my soft model was not reflective of the form that i wanted the design to go in the direction of. after more developmental design, i have come up with a sort of square shaped design with bent over corners which has a clip on the back. the inspiration for this design came from a watch face, and i quite like the uniformity and the cleanness of the hole design. it would be, i think, quite inconspicuous if placed on a bag or even around your waist belt. i also like this design because it could easily strap around your arm or bicep if the user wanted to go for a run in the spring time.
