Chromophile

I hadn't necessarily thought that I was any sort of chromophile, but, having seen the Troika below, I now believe I am.

The detail I would like to applaud on this radio is not the chrome knobs which I do find brilliant, but the chrome plating behind the knobs, that is continued around the unit.

I find this plating gives the user a direct visual cue as to where the function lies, providing a visually congruous aesthetic. One can imagine the plating being put around the radio in a different orientation (say a ring around the sides, top and bottom), and the ensuing disharmony which results.

Thus I commend the Troika and its wonderful metals.
