Babushka Baking Buddies

I couldn't possibly go past these measuring cups.
Last year when I moved out of home I spend a lot of time exploring home wear stores and determined that
form really follows function in this sector of design, and while of course it should this doesn't mean that
designs need to be boring. These Babushka doll measuring cups perfectly fill the hole in this market, as soon as I saw them in 'House'
I knew I had to buy them, regardless of their price.
Firstly they look adorable and make you want to cook just so that you can use them, but also and perhaps
the best aspect of the design is the fact that like the Russian dolls they mimic, the cups fit inside each other meaning that the set keeps all together when
you haphazardly chuck them in the draw after using them. Effectively ensuring that you don't have to go hunting for that stubborn cup that has abandoned the
group and found its way to the very back of the drawer next time you need to bake a cake.

Overall, they are simple, aesthetically beautiful and ingenious, the only thing that would make them better would be to utilise the imagery of the doll to create a
colour coding system for each measurement so you don't have to check the inside of the head.

  1. I've got one of these at home and always get a little kick out of using them, they're just so cute. But I agree that checking the inside for the measurement is troublesome and a little annoying when you've already filled the cup up.
