Tuner detail.

I quite like what designer Valentin Vodev has achieved with this cute little radio design, in particular the tuner. It has a simple functionality to it, and many of the radio's controls have been 'combined' into one feature. For example, there are no buttons or switches on the surface of the radio. To change stations, one merely has to move the antennae left and right. I also like how the power controls and volume control have been integrated into the speaker and can be controlled through rotation.
The combining of controls is something I tried to integrate into some of my radio designs.

  1. I really like the form of this radio, very clean and simple, however I would imagine that this would not sit very well on a desk which happens to be right next to a wall. If you have the speaker pointed towards yourself then the antenna would be sticking into the wall wouldn't it? Got to agree with your final statement though, combing controls is a must.
