Another box of radio

I have to admit, a good design dose't need to have a odd looking.
This little piece of work is designed by Jordi Parra, who is also a student of Umea Institute of Design in Sweden.
Firstly, when i look at his design, i was not interested by the materials he used, but the external design and the ideas that behind his design. There are too many designs that have associated with natural wood, they are unusually seen in the market, because they are expensive to build, however, mostly of them have only emphasis on the materials itself. Jordi Parra's radio design took a bold challenge with he redesign a new method to use radio, yet, i think he successfully combined his method with the design of the radio. According to his design," these disks are held magnetically to the circular volume knob on the front of the device. Listening to a playlist is as simple as placing the associated circular disk on the volume knob and turning it up."

The simple and sleek exterior design has impress me a lot and I also like the way how he bound the instruction book and the design for the package. If it is possible, i would like to see a different design of that grid pattern on the front of the device, because that was a bit too common for a radio design. By the way, that grid pattern isn't just a speaker grille, there is a LCD display on the top that can be seen through the speaker grille.
